(Not) A Giveaway.

A fun part of the blog world is the enormous amount of giveaways.  I don't enter many, but if there's something really exciting or up my alley I go ahead and enter.  I almost always enter the Pioneer Woman's fab giveaways for KitchenAid mixers and LeCruset accessories, but I don't win.  I enter my blog friends giveaways, but again, I never win.  In fact, I can remember only ONE giveaway that I've ever won, which is fine.  That was awesome, by the way, it was for some super cute little hair-ties from Marie a few years ago.

Christmas seems to be the time that people focus on giveaways, because, after all Christmas is about giving.  I think it's great, sure it's a way for most people to get more followers or more hits on their blog, but in the end it's nice for all involved.  The giver gets more attention to their little slice of cyber space, and the winner gets a pretty sweet gift.

This, folks, is my very first involvement in hosting any type of giving here on this little old blog.  I'm doing it a little differently.  I wish the kind people at KitchenAid or LeCruset would give me things to give to you all, but they've never heard of me.  So I'm asking a little differently.

Here's my request.  If, and only if, you are looking for a way to donate this Christmas season, please check out this link.  It's a project I created through an organization that helps teachers get "dream" projects funded.  The goal is for my students to get a color printer and some ink for our classroom.  It's not a grand project, but it's a simple something that would really brighten up some of the projects that my kids do.

Right now, many corporations have agreed to match any donations to the project.  Whatever you'd give will be matched.  I'd be humbled if even just one of you out there in cyberspace decided to give to my students, and any amount would be more than appreciated.

If you are going to donate, or share this on Facebook or Twitter (which would be all kinds of awesome), please do so soon because the matching funds are limited, once the slotted amount is gone, the matching is over.  Of course, your donations are still helpful at any point, but we may as well get the matched funds if possible.  Here's the link to my project.  I also included the link to a friend's project below mine.

My friend Lindsay's project link is here
